Adamawa State achieved a momentous milestone today with the commencement of a groundbreaking collaboration between the state government and TRV Consultants aimed at digitalizing ground rent and other collections. The event, held at ADGIS Office at the Ministry of Lands and Survey, brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, consultants, and directors from relevant departments.
In his opening address, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Lands and Survey, representing Governor Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, hailed the initiative as unprecedented and highly commendable. He praised the Governor for his approval and support in driving forward this transformative project.
The Special Adviser on ICT, e-Governance, and Policy, Dr Hammajam Ahmed Adamu provided an in-depth overview of the digital solution, Highlighting the Governor’s, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri directive to develop a user-friendly yet robust system. This system will leverage APIs to seamlessly integrate with the ground rent collection process, facilitating efficient data extraction while ensuring compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023.
The implementation plan includes a pilot program spanning two weeks, during which data extractors and entry experts will work in 24-hour shifts to input ground rent data into the system. This phase aims to provide the consultant with the digital solutions to make API calls for ease and enhancement of revenue collection.
Stakeholders present at the event lauded the Governor for his foresight and proactive leadership in driving this initiative forward. Their collective endorsement underscores the collaborative spirit essential for modernizing ground rent and other collection processes to benefit Adamawa State and its citizens.
The launch of this collaboration signals a significant stride in the digital transformation of governance practices in Adamawa State.
